Here is Gill-Man, the creature from the Black Lagoon. Gill-Mans recent popularity coincides with the debut of Universal Studios live performance of The Creature from the Black Lagoon- The Musical. You have to check out the detail in this beauty, it looks like they just pulled him from the water in this life sized fiberglass bust statue. He measures  25.00″ H (635mm) x 14.00″ W (355.6mm) x 17.00″ L (431.8mm), this baby is also 30 lbs. He is going to set you back $454, but I think it is worth it. Serenity - The Big Damn Replica (click to enlarge)

This easily ranks as one of the best TV Show/Film collectibles I’ve seen in a while and I have no doubt that fans of Firefly and Serenity will want this bad.

Serenity – The Big Damn Replica is a prop replica from Quantum Mechanix based on the Firefly-Class transport ship “Serenity” from Joss Whedon’s TV Series Firefly and the film spinoff Serenity.

Limited Edition Stargate SG-1 Goa'uld Death Glider (click to enlarge)

There aren’t nearly enough Stargate collectibles going around, so I’m pleased to see Quantum Mechanix are on the job (under license from MGM Studios) with this scaled replica Goa’uld Death Glider.

This is the second replica ship by Quantum Mechanix based on Stargate SG-1, the first being their F-302 Strategic Fighter – Interceptor Replica, and it’s the most detailed model of the Death Glider ever produced.

The wings span 8 inches and the model itsel fis hand-painted. The model also comes with a detailed diorama base that includes a miniature Stargate, DHD and stone circle.

The Goa’uld Death Glider is a Limited Edition piece of 1,500 individually-numbered replicas that come with a Certificate of Authenticity.

Personally I think this is an absolute bargain at $99.99.

They’re not available until the 1st Qtr in 2010, but they can be pre-ordered now to ensure you don’t miss out.

Sarang Rover Moon Buggy from 'Moon'

Propstore Auctions are currently auctioning on Ebay virtually every prop, model and costume from Duncan Jones’ acclaimed independent film Moon.

I’ve selected the model of the Sarang Rover Moon Buggy for this article as I think it’s very cool, but there are so many more items that you may find yourself more interested in, including Gerty, Sam Rockwell’s robot companion in the film as voiced by Kevin Spacey.

Here’s the description for the Moon Buggy model:

A model miniature Sarang Rover vehicle used in the 2009 sci-fi film Moon directed by Duncan Jones. These vehicles can be seen at various points during the film driving around on the moon’s surface, including the beginning when Sam is following one of the Helium 3 Mining trucks and later when Sam finds a crashed truck near one of the radio antennas. The grey coloured vehicle has a flat bed back. Measures 42cm x 22cm x 26cm (16.5″ x 8.75″ x 10″) These model miniature pieces were built by Bill Pearson and his team. Bill Pearson is well known for his outstanding work on the Alien model miniature sets and various other film and television projects over the years. The making of model miniature pieces is a dying art due to the advancement of CGI in television and film production, making these pieces a rare and must have collectable.

This item comes complete with a special Moon C.O.A which is signed by Duncan Jones (Director), Stuart Fenegan (Producer) & Stephen Lane (CEO Prop Store).

A scene from Dexter: Early Cuts

I’m a big fan of Dexter and so I’m happy to hear Showtime are producing an animated web series titled Dexter: Early Cuts.

Dexter: Early Cuts is going to be a 12 part series told in four one or two minute chapters.  It will be built on the mythology of the live-action series.  I’m laughing out loud (in a good way) at the idea that the animated series will show fans how his slaying techniques have evolved.

Dexter: Early Cuts will premiere Oct. 25 on www.sho.com.

In the meantime, Dexter has a new action figure on the way – the Dexter and Sgt. Doakes 7-Inch Action Figure Scene 2-Pack.

Lost The Complete Fifth Season Dharma Initiative Orientation Kit Blu-ray

On December 8 ABC Studio’s plan to release Lost: The Complete Fifth Season Dharma Initiative Orientation Kit.

I found this whilst bored and checking out the upcoming releases on Amazon.  Unfortunately Amazon have failed to advertise what exactly this special pack thingy contains, other than stating the obvious: it has 5 Blu-ray discs with the entire fifth season of Lost on them.

But as you can see, the kit contains far more than just 5 Blu-ray discs.

From the image above it apparently has stickers, a map, pamphlets, a vinyl record, a Dharma Initiative VHS video, floppy disc looking sleeves for the discs, and a cool looking booklet with more goodies, all packaged in a nice aged-looking box.

But at twice the price of the regular DVD/Blu-ray release, is this worth it?  It would help if there were some real specifications somewhere.  It seems ABC Studios haven’t released them yet, but I do have some images to show you.

Anyway, even without specifications Amazon have no problem letting you pre-order, so if you want to take the plunge to see what you get, here’s the link you need:

Terminator T-800 1:2 Scale Endoskeleton Replica (click to enlarge)

Exactly one month to the day I wrote a post alerting you all to a second chance opportunity at Sideshow Collectibles to grab one of these awesome Hollywood Collectors Gallery 1:2 Scale Terminator T-800 Endoskeleton replica’s.

That opportunity has now passed – all 500 of these Terminator’s are gone, with the exception of a brand new one that I’ve just found on Ebay.

Originally these sold for US $1,999.  The one on Ebay has a BIN of $2,500 but the seller is also open to offers.  Given that this is a Limited Edition item with only 500 in the world, if you want one head over to Ebay and make an offer!

The Endoskeleton stands 3 feet tall (36″) and is made from a mixture of chromed metal, polystone, and other materials. It stands on top of an impressive skull littered display base, which incorporates built-in blue LED lights.  When activated, the eyes also glow with red light.  It’s based on the T-800’s from Terminator 2: Judgment Day

I’ve decided Best Collectibles might end up a little boring if I don’t post a little something to break up all the collectibles posts.  Actually the decision was made for me since I was getting bored posting only adverts for collectibles.  So from now on I’ll incorporate my own blog posts of other cool and interesting stuff and well, this is the first of those posts.

I can’t think of a better way to kick it off than with this weird ass yet strangely awesome stop motion Dexter toy video that was put together by Showtime to promote the new season of Dexter.
