Dark Lord Sauron Polystone Statue

The Dark Lord Sauron Polystone Statue is a brilliant movie collectible from Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings.  It was manufactured by Sideshow Collectibles in 2008 as a Limited Edition of 9,500 pieces.  Every single piece sold out (as is usually the case with Lord of the Rings collectibles).

I’ve found what could amount to be an absolute bargain.  One of these Limited Edition Sauron statues, No. 420 of 9,500, is now for sale on eBay. It is advertised as being in flawless condition.

Here’s the bargain part.  There’s only 1 day left on the auction and the current bid price is an excruciatingly low $91.  These originally sold for US$300 prior to selling out, so to get one at a price any less than that is a steal.  Just go and read the reviews at Sideshow and you’ll see five stars out of five stars consistently for this particular collectible.

Sauron’s size is 24″ tall and weighs a hefty 60 lbs.

Bronze Rocky Statue (click to enlarge)

Schomberg Studio’s have produced a couple of different types of Rocky Statues and they’re all eye catchingly superb.

The image above is the Bronze Rocky Statue.  It stands 20″ high and weighs a whopping 13.15kg (29lbs).  It’s constructed 100% from bronze and is set atop a marble base.  It’s a Limited Edition piece but I have no idea of how many (not listed on the site).

Judge Dredd vs Alien Limited Edition Collectible (click to enlarge)

I’ll never grow tired of collectibles while collectibles like this Judge Dredd vs Alien Polystone Statue are hitting the market.

It’s a Limited Edition of only 1000 that draws its inspiration from the Judge Dredd/Alien crossover series by Dark Horse Comics.

The polystone statue is sculptured by First4Figures in conjunction with 2000AD, using the classic Henry Flint illustration.  Every detail is intact in what is a perfect representation of the transmogrifying of the Dredd/Alien heads.

The skull of the Xenomorph Alien is visible through a blackened translucent surface, creating an eerily striking effect. A hidden lighting element is set in the base which glows to give a night time evil feeling to the piece. Alien eggs surround the base, with unusual resins used to create a viscous pool within these pods, as face-huggers slowly emerge.

Comes in deluxe full color packaging, hand numbered base, and includes a Certificate of Authenticity.

Seriously one of the coolest Limited Edition collectibles on offer at the moment.

Hellboy Cold-Cast Faux Bronze Limited Edition Statue (click to enlarge)

Hellboy fans will be quick to jump onto this second chance opportunity.

Only 200 of these Cold Cast Faux-Bronze Hellboy Statues were ever made and they all sold out, but not all purchasers followed through on their orders.  So now some lucky Hellboy fan is going to score one of a very limited number of these extremely cool Hellboy statues.

This Big Red collectible was inspired by the Hellboy story The Third Wish and is expertly sculpted by artist Pete Jirles and cold cast in faux-bronz, with real bronze powder adding a special weight and feel to the piece.

Limited Edition Hellboy Life-Size Bust

Sideshow’s Hellboy Life-Size Bust’s from Hellboy II: The Golden Army sold out a while back.  Now a second chance opportunity to score one of the Limited Edition 500 is available.

These capture a perfect likeness of Ron Pearlman as Hellboy and stand 26″ high (full-scale bust).

Each piece is hand-cast in high quality polystone, hand finished and hand numbered for authenticity.

Honestly, the pictures don’t do this Hellboy collectible justice.

Star Wars Trash Compactor Bookends Statue

These hand painted Gentle Giant polystone Star Wars book end statues are cool enough that you can use them as stand alone statues without the books if you want.

Each statue is numbered and comes supplied with a matching certificate of authenticity.

They measure 7 1/2-inches tall x 12-inches wide x 6-inches long, these bookends are well suited for DVDs, books and graphic novels.

Entertainment Earth are advertising these babies as Limited Editions, although of how many they don’t say.

You can pre-order now, but they won’t arrive until April 2010, so it’s a while to wait.  Still, if they are Limited Edition’s and the number turns out to be small, might be best to pre-order if you don’t want to miss out.

Indiana Jones Collectible: 12 inch Toht and Ark of the Covenant (click to enlarge)

If you’re looking for Raiders of the Lost Ark collectibles then you might like this 12 inch figure of Toht that comes packaged with a Sideshow exclusive: a Polystone Ark of the Covenant replica.

These are limited to only 1000 pieces worldwide, but I’m really impressed with how cool the Ark of the Covenant replica looks.

Backstory:

1936 – South American Jungle. Dr. Indiana Jones narrowly escapes the deathly booby traps that guard an ancient fertility idol. Indy emerges from the idol’s cave, only to be met by his old rival Rene Belloq, surrounded by natives with poisoned darts, who demands the idol. Empty handed, Indy returns to Marshal College and his post as a professor of archeology. When his old friend Marcus Brody and the US Government discover a Nazi excavation in Egypt, they pay a visit to Dr. Jones to gain his aid, and recover the mysterious treasure before the Nazi excavation team.

Indiana Jones quickly realizes that the Nazis, aided by Belloq, have discovered the ancient city of Tanis, the resting place for the Ark of the Covenant. The Ark is said to house the Ten Commandments and grant incredible power to the one who can open it, potentially allowing the Nazis to destroy vast stretches of the world. To find the Ark before the Nazis, Indy must retrieve the medallion headpiece of the Staff of Ra from his old girlfriend Marion Ravenwood, unaware that a Nazi agent, Major Arnold Ernst Toht, is following close behind. The two men cross path in a fiery barroom brawl that leaves one side of the medallion’s carvings burned into Toht’s palm, the medallion safe with Marion. Traveling to Egypt, Marion and Indy seek the help of an old friend, Sallah, while Belloq attempts to read Toht’s injury as a map to the Ark.

After translating the medallion’s carvings, Indiana Jones and Egyptian excavator Sallah discover the Ark’s true resting place. They begin to dig, knowing that without both sides of the medallion, the Nazis are searching the wrong location, but it doesn’t take long for Belloq to realize the missing pieces of the medallion’s puzzle. The Ark of the Covenant unearthed and the Nazi’s in close pursuit, a struggle begins that would ultimately land the relic and Marion in the wrong hands. Indy closes in on Marion and the Ark, only to be captured himself. In their rush to unleash the relic’s incredible power, Belloq and the Nazis have forgotten the Ark’s sacred requirements, and soon find out the weight of their impatience.

Predator on Alien Horse Polystone Statue

This is a very cool collectible – a Limited Edition polystone statue of a Predator riding an Alien (Xenomorph) horse.

In fact, it’s very “limited”. Only 750 pieces were made available and way back in January they were all sold out.

But as I write this Sideshow Collectibles have listed it as a Second Chance Opportunity so get it while you can because there can’t be more than a handful available, if that.
