Serenity - The Big Damn Replica (click to enlarge)

This easily ranks as one of the best TV Show/Film collectibles I’ve seen in a while and I have no doubt that fans of Firefly and Serenity will want this bad.

Serenity – The Big Damn Replica is a prop replica from Quantum Mechanix based on the Firefly-Class transport ship “Serenity” from Joss Whedon’s TV Series Firefly and the film spinoff Serenity.

Here’s what Sideshow Collectibles have to say about it:

Serenity, has existed in all its glory in digital form only – until now. More than three years in the making, Serenity – The Big Damn Replica, has been painstakingly crafted to be absolutely screen-accurate in every aspect. Sarang Rover Moon Buggy from 'Moon'

Propstore Auctions are currently auctioning on Ebay virtually every prop, model and costume from Duncan Jones’ acclaimed independent film Moon.

I’ve selected the model of the Sarang Rover Moon Buggy for this article as I think it’s very cool, but there are so many more items that you may find yourself more interested in, including Gerty, Sam Rockwell’s robot companion in the film as voiced by Kevin Spacey.

Here’s the description for the Moon Buggy model:

A model miniature Sarang Rover vehicle used in the 2009 sci-fi film Moon directed by Duncan Jones. These vehicles can be seen at various points during the film driving around on the moon’s surface, including the beginning when Sam is following one of the Helium 3 Mining trucks and later when Sam finds a crashed truck near one of the radio antennas. The grey coloured vehicle has a flat bed back. Measures 42cm x 22cm x 26cm (16.5″ x 8.75″ x 10″) These model miniature pieces were built by Bill Pearson and his team. Bill Pearson is well known for his outstanding work on the Alien model miniature sets and various other film and television projects over the years. The making of model miniature pieces is a dying art due to the advancement of CGI in television and film production, making these pieces a rare and must have collectable.

This item comes complete with a special Moon C.O.A which is signed by Duncan Jones (Director), Stuart Fenegan (Producer) & Stephen Lane (CEO Prop Store).

Terminator T-800 1:2 Scale Endoskeleton Replica (click to enlarge)

Exactly one month to the day I wrote a post alerting you all to a second chance opportunity at Sideshow Collectibles to grab one of these awesome Hollywood Collectors Gallery 1:2 Scale Terminator T-800 Endoskeleton replica’s.

That opportunity has now passed – all 500 of these Terminator’s are gone, with the exception of a brand new one that I’ve just found on Ebay.

Originally these sold for US $1,999.  The one on Ebay has a BIN of $2,500 but the seller is also open to offers.  Given that this is a Limited Edition item with only 500 in the world, if you want one head over to Ebay and make an offer!

The Endoskeleton stands 3 feet tall (36″) and is made from a mixture of chromed metal, polystone, and other materials. It stands on top of an impressive skull littered display base, which incorporates built-in blue LED lights.  When activated, the eyes also glow with red light.  It’s based on the T-800’s from Terminator 2: Judgment Day

Star Wars Framed First Day Covers Stamps Limited Edition 500

This is a black-metal framed and matted work that includes all 15 1st-day covers that were issued in 2007 to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Star Wars: A New Hope.  Each cover features a Star Wars stamp postmarked on may 25, 2007 with the official United States Postal Service Star Wars commemorative postmark.

Comes with an individually numbered text plate.

Approximate dimensions are 30-inches tall x 33-inches wide.

It’s a Limited Edition piece of 500, and Entertainment Earth are advertising that there is only 1 left.

To be honest, the description for this Star Wars collectible is a bit hazy in my view and the image is really terrible – I assume the 15 covers you get are in addition to the framed stamps?  Whatever the case, if you’re a serious Star Wars fan its the last one, so I’m posting it just in case you might not want to miss out on adding this to your collection.

Terminator T-800 Life-Size Bust (click to enlarge)

Here’s another rare opportunity, probably the rarest one I’ve posted in a while.  It’s a chance to score a Terminator T-800 Life-Size Bust, based on Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Terminator from Terminator 2: Judgment Day.

These Terminator collectibles were manufactured by Sideshow Collectibles as a Limited Edition of 750, and all of them sold out way back in 2007.  One of the items, number 148 of the 750, is now up on Ebay for sale.  In fact, the one that is for sale on Ebay also sold, but the previous buyer didn’t commit forcing the seller to relist it.  So in a sense, this is a second chance opportunity on a now sold out and extremely hard to find Terminator collectible.

The Terminator T-800 Life Size Bust stands 21″ high and weighs 32lbs (14.51kg).

At the time of writing this post, the auction price is at US $1,050 with a BIN $1,550.  That’s a hefty markup from the original price of $549.99 but these items are rare so if you want one, that’s what you’ll have to pay.  The seller claims the item is in perfect condition, as new.

TX Terminator 1:1 Scale Head Bust, Limited Edition (click to enlarge)

Here’s another rare opportunity. The TX Terminator 1:1 Scale Head Bust, based on the TX Terminator in Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, has long since sold out.  But here’s an opportunity to get one.

Affectionately known as the Terminatrix, this is a 100% faithful full-scale (aka life sized) replica of the TX Terminator head manufactured by Sideshow Collectibles in partnership with renowned character creator Stan Winston (the man responsible for realizing the original Terminator design).

It’ll cost you $1000 and although it’s not new, the seller advises that the bust has been on display away from sunlight in a non-smoking home and as such is in excellent condition.  These originally sold for $499, so its a hefty markup, but then you can’t get them anywhere else so it is, literally, a rare opportunity.  Serious Terminator collectors will see this as a great opportunity to add to their collection.

The replica has a high-quality black-chrome finish and is mounted on a sleek base with a TX name plate and the film title: ‘Rise of the Machines’.

The entire display lights up with the same eerie blue glow as the original, including the strobing (the animated gif on the right is from the original Sideshow advert), breathing effect of the lights seen in the film.

The overall height of the display is 15″ tall.

The only thing I haven’t been able to verify is how many of these were made, but it was definitely a Limited Edition that sold out and with 18 hours left on the eBay listing, it’s worth checking out if you’re a serious Terminator collector.

Dark Lord Sauron Polystone Statue

The Dark Lord Sauron Polystone Statue is a brilliant movie collectible from Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings.  It was manufactured by Sideshow Collectibles in 2008 as a Limited Edition of 9,500 pieces.  Every single piece sold out (as is usually the case with Lord of the Rings collectibles).

I’ve found what could amount to be an absolute bargain.  One of these Limited Edition Sauron statues, No. 420 of 9,500, is now for sale on eBay. It is advertised as being in flawless condition.

Here’s the bargain part.  There’s only 1 day left on the auction and the current bid price is an excruciatingly low $91.  These originally sold for US$300 prior to selling out, so to get one at a price any less than that is a steal.  Just go and read the reviews at Sideshow and you’ll see five stars out of five stars consistently for this particular collectible.

Sauron’s size is 24″ tall and weighs a hefty 60 lbs.

Limited Edition 1000 Queen Alien Polystone Diorama

The Queen Alien Polystone Diorama manufactured by Sideshow Collectibles is now sold out, but here’s your chance to buy one thanks to eBay where one of the Limited Edition 1000 is up for sale – and it’s brand new still sealed in its box.

This awesome collectible is based on the Queen Alien from James Cameron’s Aliens. It is cast in high-quality, heavyweight polystone, then hand-finished, hand-painted and individually hand-numbered.

Stands 16 inches high above a themed display base.

Originally the Queen Alien Polystone Diorama sold for US$399, but the one available on eBay is going with a Buy it Now price of US $499.  It’s a $100 more expensive than when it originally came out, but then these types of collectibles increase in value simply because they are rare and hard to find, let alone find new and still in the box.

Avatar Basic Action Figures Wave 1

The first line of action figures based on James Cameron’s Avatar are now available for pre-order via Entertainment Earth.

Normally I wouldn’t post stock standard action figures like these however I thought I’d make an exception in this case given the added i-Tag functionality that comes with them. I’m guessing a lot of people will have some fun with it.

In short, each of these Avatar action figures comes with an i-Tag, which is a tag that enables you to play with the ‘Augmented Reality’ on the Avatar website, www.avataritag.com.

Now to the toys.  Each action figure  is made at 3 3/4-inch scale and comes with a display stand.  Each one is individually packaged with accessories (Jake gets a wheelchair, and packs also include weapons) and its own i-Tag.
