Avatar Basic Action Figures Wave 1

The first line of action figures based on James Cameron’s Avatar are now available for pre-order via Entertainment Earth.

Normally I wouldn’t post stock standard action figures like these however I thought I’d make an exception in this case given the added i-Tag functionality that comes with them. I’m guessing a lot of people will have some fun with it.

In short, each of these Avatar action figures comes with an i-Tag, which is a tag that enables you to play with the ‘Augmented Reality’ on the Avatar website, www.avataritag.com.

Now to the toys.  Each action figure  is made at 3 3/4-inch scale and comes with a display stand.  Each one is individually packaged with accessories (Jake gets a wheelchair, and packs also include weapons) and its own i-Tag.

What you get with this deal is 10 individually packaged action figures.  Here’s the list, although Entertainment Earth clarify that the list is subject to change:

Avatar AMP Suit Maquette (click to enlarge)

The AMP Suit Maquette is the first in a line of really cool collectibles based on James Cameron’s upcoming sci-fi epic, Avatar.

This is an exclusive to Sideshow Collectibles’ line of Avatar collectibles and has been created in conjunction with the film’s special effects studio Legacy Effects.

The AMP Suit Maquette is an authentic scaled representation of the battle mech in the film, modeled directly from 3D scans of the 14-foot suit that was used by Legacy during filming.

Each piece is individually painted and finished and thus comes with its own unique identity and quality.

Though I haven’t classified this one as a Limited Edition Avatar collectible, it may well become so.  At the time of writing this article Sideshow haven’t yet decided how or if the product will be limited.  I’m guessing it will be.
