Iron Man Arc Reactor Prop Replica (click to enlarge)

Even as an Iron Man fan my first impressions of this were that it was an odd collectible, but after a few people walked past my screen exclaiming “wow, cool!” I decided it really was cool.  At the very least, it’s certainly humorous.

The Iron Man Arc Reactor is manufactured by Museum Replicas Limited and is an exact replica of the actual movie prop of Tony Stark’s heart from Iron Man, right down to the machined metal parts and copper wire to the in-built high intensity LED’s .

If you don’t know the back story, then you’re probably not in the market for this collectible.  Just the same, here it is: the arc reactor supplies energy to an electromagnet, which prevents embedded shrapnel from reaching Tony Stark’s heart.

This collectible is made from machined aluminum, stainless steel, and custom molded plastic.

You can remove it from the stand.

The light functions require 4 AA batteries (not included) with a cool burn time of approx. 8-10 hours.

Includes plexiglass display case and full color certificate of authenticity.

Stands 7.75″ high .

Sideshow are yet to announce if it will be a Limited Edition item or not.

Limited Edition Metroid Phazon Suit Statue

If you’re a fan of Metroid then you’ll love this.  If you know nothing about Metroid then I’m guessing you’ll still appreciate just how awesome this Metroid Samus Aran Phazon Suit Statue looks.

Metroid is an action/adventure video game from Nintendo.  In the game, the Phazon Suit is created after the Power Suit from Metroid Prime is corrupted by an overload of pure Phazon.

This statue was built with inspiration from official Metroid artwork and is based on the official game files for accuracy.

The suit stands 8-inches tall, 11-inches wide and is cast in a transparent resin and includes over 25 LED lights.  The statue is posed on top of a mirror base that acts as a great reflective surface for the lights as can be seen in the image above.

The Metroid Samus Aran Phazon Suit Statue is a limited edition piece of only 1500.

Radio-controlled Voice Activated Supreme Dalek

Yes, this will always be one of my favorite Doctor Who collectibles.

It’s an 18-inch tall, radio-controlled voice activated Supreme Black Dalek!  If these were around when I was a kid I would have had an army of them guarding my room.  Yes, they have the ability to sense and react to movement and literally can be set up to guard your room!

Perhaps the coolest thing about this product is that Entertainment Earth have it listed at around 45% of its retail value.  It’s not a limited edition collectible so you don’t have to rush out, but then, at that price, maybe you do.

Seriously, there are some very cool Star Wars collectibles around, but arguably this is one of the coolest – Darth Maul Force FX Lightsaber.

The Darth Maul Force FX Lightsaber is an excellent die-cast metal replica lightsaber that lights up like the real thing and features a motion sensing humming blade.

See the joining piece in the above image? Yes, two of these babies can be joined to create the perfect double bladed Darth Maul lightsaber.

The blade is made of polycarbonate and is permanently attached to the hilt. It has realistic power-up and power-down sound and glowing effects that look awesome with the lights off. All of the effects are digitally recorded from the original sounds.

These lightsabers are not toys.  Well, they are toys – but they are more ‘collectible’ than ‘toy’.

Each box contains a single saber so to combine them you need to buy two.

If you’ve got the money though you won’t be unhappy, everyone who buys these loves them to death.

Star Wars Coolness: R2D2 Projection System (click to check it out)

As far as Star Wars collectibles go, this one is awesome – an Star Wars: R2D2 1:2 Scale Nikko DVD Player and Projection System.

He projects movies, has an integrated iPod dock, works with gaming consoles, plays CD’s and DVD’s, is fully motorized such that he can move in all directions, spin his head, arch forward and back, and everything he does can be controlled from a remote control Millennium Falcon. Seriously, I want one.

It’s listed in various places on Ebay with a Buy It Now price of $3,300, but I also found a secondhand one in mint condition with a starting bid of $2,500.  Links to both are below.  Naturally, with the second hand one be sure to take care as the seller is in Mexico with no prior items/feedback, but if handled properly, you could score this system for $800 less than the going price so it might be worth looking into.

Star Wars Interactive R2D2 Astromech Droid

I love looking at the coolest collectibles around, but I only spare my time to post about the really cool stuff – and the Star Wars R2D2 Interactive Astromech Droid certainly qualifies as super cool.

He’s a little smaller than the real (fictional) R2D2, but unlike the real R2D2 he actually obeys your every command (well, mostly).

Yes he might be a tad small, but what he lacks in size he makes up for by being real! He’ll even spin, dance, play music, and guard your room with his sentry alarm and alert you when someone comes near.
